1. Who runs this site The NSWMSC Internship Swap Directory (“this site”) is operated by the NSW Medical Students’ Council (NSWMSC). This site is not operated by, and is not an official system of, the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) or NSW Health. HETI is aware of this site and has indicated applicants may use it to identify a swap partner, consistent with HETI’s own published guidelines — but HETI does not run it, and using it does not guarantee any outcome with HETI.
2. What this site does This site lets eligible medical intern applicants post and browse listings indicating a Network or Rural Preferential Recruitment allocation they hold and the allocation(s) they would swap for, and provides a way to contact another applicant without publicly exposing either person’s phone number or email address. It does not submit, process, or action swaps with HETI — applicants remain responsible for completing HETI’s own swap request process.
3. Eligibility This site is intended for use by applicants who currently hold an accepted intern offer for the relevant clinical year in NSW, consistent with HETI’s published eligibility criteria for requesting a swap.
4. Your responsibilities By using this site, you agree to:
- provide accurate information, including the allocation you currently hold;
- never offer, request, or accept money, gifts, or any other incentive in connection with a swap — doing so may breach the NSW Health Code of Conduct and HETI’s guidelines, and this site’s operators may report such conduct to HETI;
- communicate respectfully with other users;
- use the “Report a concern” function if you become aware of conduct that breaches these terms.
5. No guarantee of outcome NSWMSC does not guarantee that using this site will result in a successful swap, that any listing is accurate, or that any other user’s conduct will meet these terms. Arranging contact with another user is entirely at your own risk.
6. Moderation Listings are not reviewed before publication. NSWMSC reviews listings and user conduct reactively, in response to reports, and may remove any listing or restrict access to this site at its discretion.
7. Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, NSWMSC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site, including loss arising from contact with another user or from HETI’s decisions about any swap request.
8. Third-party services and links This site uses Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam and automated abuse, and links to material published by HETI, an independent body. Your use of those third-party services and sites is subject to their own terms.
9. Changes NSWMSC may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of this site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
